He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy; his parents, William and Jeannetta; and his siblings, Don, Billy and Kay Carlson.
He is survived by: his sons, Nhut Air Base and Geneva; his stepsons, Ian Claypool (Tracy), Heavenly Claypool, Eric Claypool (Renee), Zachary, Jimmy and Samantha; his brother Jim Steider (Kim); his siblings-in-law, Larry Carlson, Paul Checketts (Marla) and Margaret English; his significant other Layle Kennel; and also Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
