He was predeceased by: his wife Sue Posey; his parents, John Posey and Mary Posey; his siblings, John Posey (Virginia), James Posey (Roma) and Lorena H. Shick (Harold); and his brother-in-law Robert Cox.
He is survived by: his spouse Ina Cox (Sue); his stepchildren, Vernie McNamee of Lafayette, Jon Kaenel of New Iberia, Joni Branigan (Michael) of Papillion, Debra Wallace of Siloam Springs and Lisa Christensen (Kelly) of Youngsville; and his sisters-in-law, Kathi Ekeler (Kenneth) of York and Mitzi Gitlin (Terry) of Castro Valley. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren.
