He was predeceased by: his son Stephen; his parents, Alva Landreth and Eva Landreth; his siblings, Wilber, Lawrence, Lloyd (Bertha), Floyd (May), Vern (Velma Earline), Thelma Walker (Bob), Barbara Krotz (Charles), Ethel Blair (Levi) and Grace Cerny; and his parents-in-law, Harry and Frieda Caparoon.

He is survived by: his wife Evelyn; his children, Edward (Diane), Laura, Richard, Gary, Glenn, Karen (Todd Parriott) and Bryan; and his brother-in-law Duane Cerny. He is also survived by several grandchildren, step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, step-great great grandchildren.

A memorial has been established for the Rushville Volunteer Fire Department.
