She was predeceased by: her father Alfred Bougher; her sister Shawna Geniuk; her aunt Christie Bagby; her uncles, Lee Holtman and Richard Holtman; and her grandmother Sylvia Holtman.
She is survived by: her mother Gayle Bougher (Holtman) of Falls City; her former husband Louis Scates; her children, Samantha Scates of Hiawatha and Kyle Scates of Falls City; her stepfather Wesley Barnett of Falls City; her half-sister Melissa Bougher of Des Moines, IA; her stepsisters, Vickie Barnett of Hawaii, Toni Lovelady of Hiawatha and Angie Hernandez of St. Joseph, MO; her grandchildren, Aden Ramirez, Alexis Ramirez and Kameron Scates; and her pet Max.
