He was predeceased by: his parents, David Dettmann and Cara Dettmann (White); his daughter Julie Marie; his brothers, Raymond, Otis, Leonard and David Dee; and his brother-in-law Jack Kesting.
He is survived by: his former spouse Vashti Rider of Auburn, NE; his sons, Jeffrey of Maize, KS and Jack of Falls City; his sister Mary Glenda Kesting of Omaha; and his sister-in-law Alberta Dettmann of Hiawatha, KS. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to Shubert American Legion.
