He was predeceased by: his wife Eleanor. He is survived by: his children, Marilyn Hansen (Rob), Jo DeMars (Richard Schumann), Pat Schooley (Lynn), James Schooley, Connie Dunwoody (Mark) and Mike Schooley (Colleen); and his sister Evelyn Canoy. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
