He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Grimes and Pauline Grimes (Russell); and his sister Darlene Adams (Ralph). He is survived by: his son Jim Lanfear (Michelle) of Chapin; his granddaughters, Mikayle and Sierra Lanfear; and his siblings, Bernard Grimes (Ruth) of Seward and Muffy Justin (Curt) of Chambers. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
