He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Thies and Rosina Thies (Swanson); his wife Susan Slaughter; and his brother Earl. He is survived by: his siblings, Duane of Winside and Maxine (Phil Farley) of Broomfield, CO; his children, Cameron and Kelly; and his stepsons, Troy (Tami), Wood (AJ) of Central City and Jarrod (Lana). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
