He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Gottschalk and Wilma Jane Hendrickson Gottschalk; his son Brad; his brother Dan; and his grandchild Kody Holloway.

He is survived by: his wife Diane (Stoeser-Holloway) of Broken Bow; his sons, Gary Gottschalk of Broken Bow and Greg Gottschalk of Grand Island; his stepsons, Kirby Holloway (Sheri) of Burwell and Kyle Holloway of Rapid City, SD; and his sister Kay Fenton (Gary) of Broken Bow. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a brother.
