With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Scott R. Bates (Alliance, Nebraska), who passed away on February 16, 2024 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, George E. Bates and Berniece Bates (Coleman); and his sister-in-law Judy Bates. He is survived by: his children, Eric and Beth Bates of Alliance; his grandchildren, Brooke (Evan), Ethan and Luke; his children, Shay and Gerald Armstrong of Lincoln; his grandchildren, Aden, Anna, Lilli and Nora; the mother of his children Linda Bates of Alliance; and his siblings, David Bates of Yuba City, CA and Georgia Lauterbach (Jon) of Tampa, FL. He is also survived by his niece, two nephews, and many extended family members and friends.

Memorials may be given to St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 430, Alliance, Nebraska, 69301, or the Alliance Bulldog Backpack Program, 820 W. 9th Street, Alliance, Nebraska, 69301.
