It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Slegers (Oakes, North Dakota), born in Milnor, North Dakota, who passed away on August 3, 2018, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Cross and Josie Cross; her spouse Ted; her siblings, David Cross, Earl Cross, Donna Dillman Gullickson and Evelyn Kiser Sorum; her sisters-in-law, Delores Poynter, Lois Slegers and Mary Cross; her sons-in-law, Dennis Torkelson and Bob King; and her great great grandchild Riley Selid.
She is survived by: her daughters, Nancy King of Valley City, ND, Karen Nygaard (Eugene) of Denton, TX, Judy Torkelson of Fergus Falls, MN and Neva Miller of Kalona, IA; her sister-in-law Lillian Karp of LaCresenta, CA; and also Milnor. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
