He was predeceased by: his former wife Bev Schulz (Hapala); and his daughter Wendy. He is survived by: his sons, Scott Schulz of West Fargo, ND, Kevin Schulz of Perham, MN and Bryon Schulz (Dawn) of Eyota, MN.; and his spouse Beverly Hapala.
