It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frederick Sommerfeld (Mandan, North Dakota), born in Hague, Saskatchewan, who passed away on January 22, 2020, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his significant other Lorraine Sommerfeld; his sister Edna Baker; and his nephew Bryce Ernst. He is survived by: his daughters, Susan Sommerfeld and Nancy D'Ambrosio; his sister Bertha Ernst; his grandchildren, Anthony D'Ambrosio of Plymouth, Minnesota, Christopher D'Ambrosio of Plymouth, Minnesota, Ryan Nelson, Kristen Nelson and Stephanie Griffin (Paul); and his great grandchildren, Elizabeth Griffin of Ballwin, Missouri, Josephine Griffin of Ballwin, Missouri and Gwendolyn Griffin of Ballwin, Missouri.
Memorial service followed at 11:00 AM with Pastor Amy Oehlschlaeger officiating. (The pandemic and travel restrictions prevented family to travel aboard flights to his final resting place in North Dakota.).
