He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas B. O'Connell and Adelaura O'Connell (Lizakowski); his wife Peggy Lou Iverson of Michael's Catholic Church; his daughter Erin Dionne; his son-in-law Steve Martin; his sister Patricia Berntsen; and his parents-in-law, Pearl Iverson (Monson) and Iver Iverson.
He is survived by: his children, Barbara Martin of Emerado, ND, Daniel O'Connell (Barb) of Williams, MN, Patricia McCracken (Austin) of Davenport, IA and William O'Connell (Cassie Scheving) of Grand Forks, ND; his son-in-law Kenneth Dionne (East); his brother William O'Connell (Anne VanCamp); his brother-in-law Donald Berntsen (Mary Loyland); his grandchildren, Nicole O'Connell, Haley Dionne, Rebecca Martin, Joseph Martin (Natalie), Elijah McCracken (Olivia), Noah McCracken, Wrigley O'Connell and Hazel O'Connell; and his great grandchildren, Josilyn O'Connell and Eve Martin.
