He was predeceased by: his parents, Mathias Barnhardt and Rose Barnhardt (Schmidt); his brothers, Peter Barnhardt and Robert Barnhardt; his daughter Donna Marie Morgan (Barnhardt); and his grandson Andrew Christensen.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Barnhardt (Jirges); and his children, Nancy Christensen (Jeff) of Lakeville, MN, Patricia Weber (Paul) of Eagan, MN, Gregory Barnhardt of Omaha, NE, Randall Barnhardt (Marla) of Mandan, ND and Benjamin Barnhardt of Bismarck, ND. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to donor's choice, North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery or Montessori school at Christ the King.
