He is survived by: his cousin Adam Harr; his brother-in-law Albert Iszler; his wife Caroline Sayler; his daughters, Kelva Helfenstein (Floyd) of Ashley, ND and Lynelle Miller of Fargo, ND.; his grandchildren, Ethan Helfenstein (Kennedy) of Ashley, ND, Skylar Helfenstein of Ashley, ND, Sienna Mayer of Sioux Falls, SD, Jansen Mayer of Warwick, RI. and Emma Mayer of Warwick, RI.; his great grandchildren, Fred, Sylvia and Ila Helfenstein; his sister June Schauer (Buchholz) of Jamestown, ND; and his siblings-in-law, Darlene Sayler of Ashley, ND, LaVonne Sayler of Bennett, CO, Pearl Sayler of Aurora, CO, Evangeline and Dennis Brenna of Sun City, AZ.
