He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Crawford and MaeBelle Crawford; his wife Louise Johnson; and his siblings, Albert Johnson Jerry Crawford, Perry Crawford, Thomas Crawford and Annie Lee Crawford.

He is survived by: his son Willie Johnson, Jr.; his siblings, Mary Wilkins, Gwendolyn Crawford Roberts and David Crawford; and his close friends, Susan Davis and Gloria Boston. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
