He is survived by: his wife Judy Koontz; his sons, Chuck Koontz (Tracy) of Welcome, Mike Koontz (Wendy) of Cooleemee and Keith Koontz (Robyn) of Mocksville; his brother Terry Koontz (Gloria) of Woodleaf; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Ian and Rylan; his niece Teresa "Teeny Bop" (Craig) of Fork; and his nephews, Jake and Alec.
