He is survived by: the mother of his children Gwendolyn Pender; his son Vernal "Junior" Pender (Beverly) of Chesapeake, VA; his grandchildren, Cameron Pender of Chesapeake, VA, Kendra Fisher of Greensboro, NC and Kristen Scriven of Winston-Salem, NC; his wife Gwendolyn Pender; his brothers, Johnny Pender (Frances) and Bradley Pender (Jackie); and his siblings-in-law, Randon Pender of Winston-Salem, NC and Ben Stevenson of St. Augustine, FL. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
