He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny William Griggs and Delcie Elizabeth Hege Griggs. He is survived by: his wife Sharon "Sherry" Dagenhardt Griggs; his sons, Chris (Tiffany), Parrish (Kelsey) and Sterling (Kellie); his grandchildren, Mary Beth Mueffelmann (Chris), Chandler Griggs, Jenna Griggs, Reynolds Griggs, Elijah Griggs, Deacon Griggs and Emmerson Griggs; his great grandchild Mia Mueffelmann; and his brothers-in-law, Ronald Dagenhardt (Vicky) and Scott Dagenhardt (Nan).
