He was predeceased by: his wife Emma Jean Etheridge Duffer; his parents, Mabel Elizabeth Blau Duffer and Luther Dee Duffer; and his son-in-law Walter Winn. He is survived by: his children, James Duffer of New Bern, NC, Michael Duffer (Christine Kneppelt Duffer) of Winston Salem, NC, Catherine Duffer Winn of Winston Salem, NC, Amanda Duffer of Pinnacle, NC and Brent Duffer (family: Evelyn Etheridge Aust) of Winston Salem, NC. He is also survived by sister-in-law and family.
