He was predeceased by: his parents, O. E. Starnes, Sr. and Marion Fletcher Starnes; and his wife Alberta Evans Starnes. He is survived by: his son Hal F. Starnes Jr. (Elizabeth Valentine); his grandchildren, Hal F. Starnes, III, Theresa, Ian and Valentine; his great grandchild Martha Caroline Douglas (Bill Douglas); and also, Catherine, Will and Andrew Starnes (Linda Wisler).
