It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Emil Nathan III of Winston Salem, North Carolina, who passed away on September 20, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Nathan Jr. and Kathryn Kline; and his brother Dr. Peter Nathan. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Hicks Nathan; his children, Robin Ehrlich (Jerry), Kit Goss (Michael), Gary Nathan (Nancy Klaber) and Andrew Nathan (Sarah Hartry); his stepchildren, Byron Hicks (Lori) and Ann Yonker (Ron); his grandchildren, Dani Kaye (Jesse), Jenny Rischall, Gabe Rischall (Alexis), Kelsey Smith, Hannah Smith, Caroline Nathan, Julia Nathan, Natasha Nathan, Olivia Nathan, Lauren Tuttle (Travis), Kadie Hicks, Haley Watts (Chris) and Rachael Allen; his great grandchildren, Leo Kaye, Maya Kaye, Harvey Rischall, Elaina Rischall and Emma Grey Tuttle; his stepsiblings, Tom Weil and Susan Meier; and his siblings-in-law, Tom Chandler (Lynn) and Anne Helene Skinstad.
