He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Hughes (C. A.) and Sara Hughes; his wife Maria Harris Hughes; and his brother Chester Hughes. He is survived by: his children, Jon Hughes and Sharon; his son-in-law Jim Reason; his close friend Becky McCrary; his grandchildren, Tyler, Parker Reason and Taylor Hughes; his sister Carole; and his brother-in-law Tim Wayland.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 24th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Wilmington Funeral & Cremation—wilmington Chapel (1535 S 41st St, Wilmington, NC 28403).
