She is survived by: her daughters, Wanda Hughes Taylor (John) of Greenville, NC, Beverly Hughes Lohorn (Wilson) of White, GA and Sabine Veckenstedt of Cary, NC; her grandchildren, David Lohorn of Spring Hill, TN, Rebecca Taylor Howard (Chad) of Greenville, NC, Emily Lohorn Johnson (Nick) of Adairsville, GA, John Taylor III (Sierra) of Pine Town, NC, Hunter Lohorn (Alex) of White, GA, Mark Veckenstedt (Jo Marie) of Winston Salem, Tyler Veckenstedt and S. Army; her great grandchildren, Carter Lohorn, Evelynne Howard, Cooper, Cason, Chloe Johnson, Allison, Brady Avery, Kinleigh and John Lawrence Taylor; and her brother Stuart Nelson of Chapel Hill, NC..
In lieu of flowers, Shelby preferred donations to the Memorial Baptist Church, the Williamston Fire & Rescue or the Beckwith Wiedemann Society in honor of her great granddaughter, Chloe.
