He was predeceased by: his parents, Calhoon Nichols and Mary Jane Ward Nichols. He is survived by: his wife Florence Holliday Nichols; his children, Richard Lee Nichols, Jr. of Williamston, Tammy Lynn Harrell (Preston) of Williamston, Betty Ann Langley (Toby) of Williamston and Stacy Riley; his grandchildren, Jonathan Harrell, Benjamin Harrell, Shay Langley and Colin Langley; and his great grandchildren, Kenneth Gardner, Noah Harrell and Daken Harrell.
