He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gray Leary and Lucy Rogerson Leary; and his daughter Kimberly Leary Roberson. He is survived by: his wife Betty Swain Leary; and his children, Donna Gardner (Kelvin), Shelby Mobley (Terry) and David Leary (Emily).

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Roberson Chapel Church and Bear Grass Ruritans.
