He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Stokes; his sister Lena May Walls; and his parents, Cora Lee Stokes (Harris) and Hicks Ardell Stokes. He is survived by: his children, Larry Stokes, Beth Hodges (Leslie) and Tammy Bennett (Sean); his siblings, C. A. Stokes, Jackie Noriega (Mike), Rachel Dixon and Fran Simpson (Bennie); and his cousin Bertie Tingle. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
