She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Offarrow and Joanna Spruill Staton; her son James Arthur Staton; her grandson James Arthur Staton, Jr.; and her sisters, Marcerine Brown and Linda Faye Johnson.
She is survived by: her significant other Savalius Bridgers; her daughter Bonita Taylor (Andre) of Oak City, NC; her grandchildren, Tahkeem Staton of Oak City and Jakela Taylor of Greenville, NC; and her siblings, Fanny Perkins (Curtis) of Stokes, NC, Annie Bridgers (Jim) of Gold Point, Brenda Staton of Bethel, NC, Betsy Hardison (Levi) of Robersonville, NC, Ed Staton of Robersonville, NC, Henry Staton (Mary) of Scotland Neck, NC, Mike Staton (Ursula) of Spring Green, NC and Ricky Staton of Goldpoint, NC. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
