He was predeceased by: his parents, Dow Marcus and Dora Viola Hendrix Hawkins; and his brother Clyde Hawkins. He is survived by: his wife Gaynell Smithey Hawkins; his children, Dana Wyatt of Albuquerque, NM, Angie Hatton (Shannon) of Lenoir and Dow Hawkins (Melany) of Davidson; his grandchildren, Breanna Ward, Cooper Hatton, McKenna Waddell and Haley Waddell; his great grandchildren, Izzy Wagoner and Bowen Wagoner; and his sisters, Janette Dove of Ferguson, Dorothy Triplette of Wilkesboro, Gin Smith of Ferguson, Doris Elledge (Mike) of Ferguson and Lib Robbins (Mitchell) of Ferguson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
