He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gentle and Leah Benge Gentle. He is survived by: his wife Linda Gentle; his children, Paula Mitchell (Dennis) of King, NC and Eric Gentle (Traci) of Wilkesboro; his grandchild Jordan Mitchell (Olivia) of Winston-Salem; and his siblings, Bobbie Blevins (Joe), Nancy Bishop (Doug), Kay Durham (Reece), Wayne Gentle (Floy) and Charlie Gentle.
