It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Delcie Norene Short of Wilkesboro, North Carolina, born in Tazewell, Virginia, who passed away on August 26, 2022, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Grover Cleveland Elswick and Elizabeth Sheffy Remines Elswick; and her husband Ramie Bascom "Rabbit" Short. She is survived by: her son Grover Cleveland Elswick (Ruth) of Wilkesboro, NC.; her granddaughters, Heather Thornburg (Charles Robert) and Krista Miller; and her great grandchild Ethan Thornburg.
