He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Hewett and Carrie Hewett; his wife Shelby Jean Tyree Hewett; and his sisters, Arlene Crowell and Shula Hewett.
He is survived by: his children, O'Brian Hewett (Melissa) of Whiteville and Beverly Powers of Whiteville; and his siblings, Cubie Hewett of Virginia, Jerry Hewett (Nancy) of Virginia, Joey (Joanne) of Virginia, Johnny (Linda) of Whiteville and Shirley Thompson (Arthur) of Holden Beach. He is also survived by four grandchildren; one great grandchild.
