He is survived by: his parent Martha Richardson Cartrette; his wife Virginia Creech Cartrette; his daughters, Jerri Lynn Cartrette of Shallotte and Sophia Lea Cartrette of Whiteville; his siblings, Herman "Joe" Cartrette of Nakina, Cecil McCumbee of Tabor City and Lucille Sellers of Whiteville; his grandchildren, Joshua Priest, Andrew Priest and Jerri Ann Cartrette; and his great grandchildren, Joshua Priest II, Grace Priest, Haedyn Priest, Lexie Greene, Isaiah Lovette and Bradley Lenore Lovette.
