He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Worth Powers and Bertha Pickard Powers; his former wife Doris W. Tharrington Powers; and his brother George Richard Powers. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Faircloth Jones Powers; his children, Donald G. Powers (Nancy), Lloyd K. Powers (Serita), Jean M. Powers, Carol P. Newcomb (Robert) and Kathryn P. Walker (Dan); his siblings, Annie L. Wright and Preston E. Powers; and his stepchildren, Kim Farris (Paul), Melinda Bissett (Jay) and Reginald Jones (Nicole). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; and 2 step great grandchildren.
