He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Martin Shannon, Sr. and Barbara Ann Gervato Shannon. He is survived by: his significant other Freda Jenkins; his significant other's child Shelby Jenkins of Maggie Valley; his stepdaughter Jamie Thompson (Ryan) of Waynesville; his siblings, Mark Shannon (Sherry) of Canton, Jennifer Shannon of Alpharetta, GA and Noelle Shannon Traynham (Brian) of Arden; his grandchildren, Nolan, Livia and Mamaw-Shelby Mason; and his nieces and nephews, Andy Rogers (Shauna), Alden Shannon (Becca), Bridgette Traynham, Elliette McElroy, Alex Traynham, April Parkins (Anthony), Tiffany Parkins (Jamie Sutton), Selena Faw (Wesley), Jeanice Ford, Jason Ball (Tasha), Cade Parkins and Old English Bulldog.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to The American Stroke Association.
