It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mike Payne (Waynesville, North Carolina), who passed away on July 11, 2022, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Russell and Edith Earley Russell; his great grandchild Raelynn Boone; and his siblings, Libby Sutton, Shorty and Roger Payne.
He is survived by: his wife Charlene Green Payne; his children, Donna Best (Greg) and Michael Payne, Jr. (Tammy); his siblings, Donna Greene (Lowell), Sandra Beasley (Tommy), Wanda Messer, Kelly Bearden, Debra Mathis, Doug Payne (Joyce) and David Payne; his grandchildren, Kandace Best, Hunter Payne (Abby), Kristin Best and Caleb Best (Jessica); his great grandchildren, Walker, Maddie, Sadie and Charlie; and his pet Murphy.
