She was predeceased by: her father James West; her husband William G. Brain; her daughter Susan Ann Wicks; and her brother Henry Lyle West. She is survived by: her daughter Sandy Newman; her stepson Billy Brain; and her brother James Harley West (Collette). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Four Seasons Hospice at 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
