He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mathis and Virginia Mathis; and his siblings, Danny Mathis and Lorena Snyder. He is survived by: his significant other Karen Chambers of Waynesville; his daughters, Sherri Mathis (Jerome Buchanan) of Waynesville and Shelli Russell (Robert Russell) of Leicester; his sister Judy Fowler; and his grandchildren, Marshall Smith, Isabella Schmidt and Gracie Schmidt.
