He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Clarence and Opal Gibson Sherrill; his son Eddie Dean Payne; his great grandchild Deslyn; and his siblings, Faye, Oleana Grooms, Samuel, Frank, Henry and Paul Sherrill.
He is survived by: his wife Lisa Sherrill of Waynesville; and his children, Sheila Allen (Steve) of Waynesville, Deborah Sherrill of Waynesville, Valerie Sherrill of Washington, Daniel Dean Sherrill, Jr. (Kathy) of Waynesville and Zebadiah Sherrill (Melody) of Waynesville. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
