He is survived by: his wife Judy Harkins Russell; his siblings, Ronnie Russell (Margaret) of Clyde and Freda Russell Morgan (Tim) of Franklin; his nephew Matthias Russell of Clyde; his niece Tara Russell Carver; and also Nathanael of Clyde.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riverside Baptist Church Community Missions Fund, 2171 Lake Logan Road, Waynesville, NC 28786.
