He was predeceased by: his father Brown Copeland. He is survived by: his wife Ella Louise Davis Copeland; his children, Dana Copeland (Jacquelin), Samuel Copeland, Jr., Deana Austin, Belinda Copeland, Samdreya Turman (Norris, Jr.) and Sarah Jolly (David); and his siblings, Charles Copeland and Lula Mae Fort. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
