He was predeceased by: his father Luther Gilbert Alford, Sr.; and his sisters, Margie Keith and Mary Barham. He is survived by: his wife Alice Wall Alford; and his sister Evelyn Horton of Wake Forest. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and two great-nieces.
