He is survived by: his daughter Lauren Ashton Roberts Tate (Adam); his grandson Merritt Adam Tate; his sister Patricia Roberts Hixson; his caregiver Terrie Godfrey Roberts; and his nieces and nephews, Owen Bryant Hixon (Kim), Eric Eugene Hixon, John Wesley Godfrey, Candace Nichol Godfrey and Wendy Hixon Bowling (Shawn).
