It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sheldon Hayes Spears Hagen of Vanceboro, North Carolina, born in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, who passed away on November 29, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Morin and Betty Lou Holstein Spears; and her son Joseph Merrell Mahoney (Jay). She is survived by: her husband James Edward Hagen of Cary; her children, Jennifer Lea Mahoney Webb (Stuart Ward) of Raleigh and Jeffrey Hayes Mahoney (Georgeanna) of Greenville; her grandchildren, Rachel Sommers Webb of Boston, Toler Hayes Webb of Atlanta, Joseph Merrell Mahoney, Jr. of Greenville, Carrie Alice Mahoney of Roanoke, VA, Jeffrey Hayes Mahoney, Jr. and Benjamin Wells Mahoney of Greenville; and her sister Brenda Lou Spears Jackson (Forrest) of Ft. Mitchell.
