It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nicholas Leon Murphy (Vanceboro, North Carolina), born in New Bern, North Carolina, who passed away on August 13, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his son Nicholas Murphy, Jr.; his parents, Andrew Moore Murphy and Pearl James Murphy; and his siblings, Roy, Raymond, Benny, Ervin, Selby, Bruce, Millard, Ruby Warf, Pearlina Haskett, Remona Carroll, Carol Arthur and Marion Taylor.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Arehart Murphy; his children, Patricia Brosnen, Marian Dudley (Max) of Vanceboro, Andy Murphy of Ernul and Edna Grant of Trenton; his grandchildren, Joshua Murphy (Stacey), Michael Murphy (Charlotte), Melissa Brosen, Jamie Stillwell (Robert), Bruce Brorsen, Chris Toler, Danny Toler and Andrea Murphy; his great grandchildren, Josh Murphy, Jocelyn, Jordyn Sadler, Brycen and Karsyn Toler; his brother Gerald Murphy; and his close friend Sassy.
