He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Gaskins and Ethel Heath Gaskins; his son Clyde Earl Gaskins, Jr.; and his brother Robert Lee Gaskins. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Fillingame Gaskins; his children, Kenneth Randell Fillingame (Angela) of Ernul and Tammy G. Gaskins of Ernul; his grandsons, Chris Fillingame (Brandy) of New Bern and Logan Whichard of Chocowinity; his great grandchildren, Cameron Fillingame, Jaidyn Fillingame and Nicholas Maxwell; his siblings, Phil Gaskins (Tommie) of New Bern and Ellen Garza (Roy) of Sarasota, FL; and his sisters-in-law, Jean Fillingame Ackiss and Mary H. Fillingame.
He survived stage four bone cancer for three years to be taken by the COVID-19 virus in four days.
