He is survived by: his son Walter of Raleigh, NC; his mother Sally Jo; his brother Robert (Margot); his aunt June Brady; his uncle Philip Hamrick (June); his nieces, Meg Carter Blue, Kate Carter and Rollins Carter; and his nephew Lawson Carter.
