He is survived by: his children, Thomas (Judy Stroud), Claude and Sharon Koontz (Keith); his grandchildren, Carol Ann Robertson, Kelsey Taylor Koontz and Austin Koontz; his great grandchildren, Corinna and Ray Lee; and his siblings, Hal Whidden and Judy North (Terry).
His body has been donated to The Body Farm at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN.
