It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Kirkwood of Tryon, North Carolina, born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, who passed away on December 2, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Amos Kirkwood and Tressie Kirkwood; and his siblings, J. Scott Kirkwood, Rosemary Ackley and Doris Jean Gulagher.
He is survived by: his wife Lynn Loyd; and his daughters, Liz Breed (Greg) of Waynesville, NC, Jill Shea (Jim) of Tryon, NC, Katie McLaughlin of Tryon, NC and Jenny Gerber (Brian) of Charlotte, NC.. He is also survived by his 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
